Wound dressing at home
Wounds heal better when they are dressed cleanly and on schedule. A nurse can visit to change dressings at home, watch how the wound is healing, and tell you early if it needs a doctor’s attention.
What the nurse does
- Surgical wound and suture site dressing
- Bed sore (pressure sore) care and prevention
- Burn dressing
- Diabetic foot and other slow-healing wounds
- Care after fractures and orthopaedic procedures
- Lymphoedema management
Who it’s for
Patients with surgical wounds, bed sores, burns, or chronic wounds, especially those who find it difficult to travel for dressing changes.
